Barn House masters Flea

I did it again, I said I wouldn't, but I couldn't stay away.  It was B's birthday weekend, so I didn't think I would have time to head out to one of my favorite country spots for the flea markets of all flea markets.  The decision was made on Thursday, but by Friday I had already changed my mind and knew that Mable and I would be heading out the next day.  In order to not earn the title of "bad mother" I made Mr. French and B come along.  Great decision!  B loved the animals and Mr. French loved the country.  Win, win, win!

The Js outdid themselves and the dealers were above and beyond genius.  I purchased a couple trinkets, but mostly went for the snappage factor.  I love sharing them, so here is a sampling.  You can check out more on my flickr page.  I am glad I changed my mind....

This is one of the main reasons for the change of heart...one of dearest friends, Rebekah,(oh come on you know her...Little Byrd!)made her flea market debut.  I am so proud of her.  She was beaming all over place and her tent was a slice of sweetness.

Skona Hem: White

Skona Hem day 2!  As I was going through the photos in my "Skona Hem" file I began to notice an undeniable trend?  Can you see it?  Pretty sure it doesn't take a designer to figure it out....WHITE!!!!  Obviously I love it, I mean really, really love it.  Crisp, clean, pristine and perfect...so unlike my current life.  I love my current life, but would really love to step into this one for awhile.  I am thinking I need to place my life somewhere between the two, I am working on it.

I get to pick up my photo today and chances are if I have a new photo I will need a light fixture to go with it (anyone ever read If You Give a Mouse a Cookie?).  It's a dangerous cycle my friends.

(Gray...can you believe it?  I chose a photo with gray walls!  I am patting myself on the back for this one!)

Skona Hem

I have been impressed with my ambition to make my house a "home."  I have managed to start many small projects, only to bore quickly and move on to the next.  I have many ideas.  Lack of ideas is certainly not the problem.  Lack of focus and funds seem to be what holds me up time and time again.  I think I have tried to be the gal that can redo a home using things I already have and some ingenuity and in the process have turned into the girl with expensive taste and big ideas.  Nothing is at a standstill right now.  Actually everything is moving about a zillion miles per hour.  However, most of that movement is going on inside my noggin.

Oh well...I have been compiling beautiful ideas for quite some time.  Currently, my favorite resource is Skona Hem.  An absolutely perfect design magazine from Sweden.  I checked into a subscription, but found that a 200 and some odd dollar magazine subscription would not help my home endeavors.  Thank goodness for wonderful websites!  I am pretty sure I will barely scratch the surface with this post and may have to make it a two day series (really sounds fantastically important, doesn't it).

I have managed to choose a photo for the dining room and am in the process of getting it blown up and mounted on my wall...stay tuned for photos!

memememememe...enough already! get to the good stuff.

Frankly, I am tired of "me," "my," and "look what I did!" on this blog.  I am changing things up a bit and moving more in the direction of "Wow, look what they have!" and "Have you seen?"  I have a feeling I am one of the few who has not.  Cabbages and Roses!  I can't believe I have went this long, addicted to beautiful clothing and had not seen this beautiful line before.  Pretty, flowy, and fresh is how I would describe their wares.  For some reason I feel as if each item would smell as if it were dried on a clothes line in a fresh, springy, mountain meadow.  Oh and did I happen to mention that they carry homeware and fabric?  Well I just did, so enjoy!

Angie Cao

I have found that the more I submerge myself into my pictures, the more I have become a fan of photography and the amazing folks behind the camera.  I find myself lost in other's work quite easily.  I do not think I could tire of looking at how other people view the world.  Especially when that view is from an individual with an amazing eye.

I have recently found myself pulled to one of these amazing photographers: Angie Cao. I first discovered her work through beautiful Bloesem and have found myself going back to that particular post and Angie's site repeatedly since then.

I find her photography inspirational, personal, and lovely.  She has a way of creating a soft, quiet story through her photographs.  A story I long to be a part of. I hope you like her as much as I do.  I hope she makes you feel happy and if only for moment...peaceful. That is how I feel when I see the world through her lens.

be still....

I am so excited about this project I could just burst!  It is appropriately titled  "s t i l l."  Cindy at Quaint Handmade introduced me to s t i l l and to its lovely creator Martha.  I am a photography nut and still life shots have always been my favorite to shoot. I love the way everyday objects can be transformed into magical works of art simply by pushing that sweet little button on a camera.  I have been submerging myself in this Flickr pool since I stumbled upon it.  Here are a few of my favorites and some I submitted.  If you are in need of some serious inspiration check it out. Better yet, submit some of your own.

These are some of mine:

Oh and this has absolutely nothing to do with anything, but I got new shoes!   Wheeee!  New shoes just make me happy in a completely superficial way.  I call them I-got-bit-by-a-dog-the-sun-is-finally-shining-shoes:

I Heart Wednesday.

I am back!  My Wednesday is much better than my Tuesday.  I learned a valuable lesson through all of this: not all dogs want to be my friend, no matter how much lovin' I dish out.  Can't wait to catch up on all your blogs!

I heart this new sleek design (so much better than the older model).

I heart this house so much. I would buy it today, if I could (thanks Rebekah).

I heart these containers.

I heart these earrings.

I heart this tunic.

I heart this clutch.

I heart these poppies (found via Design Healing).
I heart this chair (found via a Merry Mishap).

I heart these "market totes."

I heart this dress.
